Abstract
Dear friends, It has only been two months since our annual Congress was held and it is now that we can assess the results. The preparation of a Congress is, without a doubt, a laborious work; so, first of all, we must congratulate the local organizing committee for its magnificent work. Once again, we met with great enthusiasm to share experiences and broaden professional horizons despite the economic storm, cuts and changes in working conditions to which none of us are indifferent. But the best thing about storms is that they give us a chance to sit back and reflect. The economic squall that has been hitting welfare societies for some years now continues, and we are all witnessing the direct results on our families, our workplaces and our staff. And Knowledge Societies are not unaware of these effects and that is why we must reactivate ourselves, strengthening our capacity and developing a leading role as a group to promote positive changes in the situations we live in. In the field of care for people with kidney disease, there is an excess of unconfirmed and often confusing information. Patients, families and professionals need guidance in this informative jungle and serious training supported by reliable professional groups and accredited institutions.
