Abstract
Last October, the 15th anniversary of the Scielo Network (Scientifi c Electronic Library Online) was celebrated in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and as a highlight of this meeting, the agreement between FAPESP Fundação Científi ca Brasileira promoter of the SciELO Network and Thomson Reuters was consummated, with the inclusion of the SciELO collection in the Web of Knowledge (WoK) platform, creating the so-called Scielo Citation Index, which will operate as a separate database in the WoK platform, but hosted there. As we mentioned last year, in this same section, this agreement opens up new horizons in SciELO's mission to improve the visibility of science made in Latin America, Spain and Portugal. The importance of this agreement is determined by the fact that Thomson Reuters facilitates access to the most important and influential journals in the world, regardless of the format in which they are published, and produces the ISI Journal Citation Reports on the Web (JCR® Web) which provides a systematic and objective method of critically evaluating the world's most important research journals. It offers a unique perspective for evaluation and comparison, as it accumulates and tabulates the number of citations and articles from virtually all fields of science, technology and social science, producing the famous Impact Factor. Currently, there is no Spanish nursing journal, nor international nursing journals related to renal care (Renal Care, Nephrology Nursing Journal) included in the JCR.
